Paul - I don't think it's fair to count any 428 points into the season final for the 424 guys. You sure we don't want to keep that just 424 only?
The Wichita guys throw a good race - hope to see lots of competitors there! It's gotta be cooler weather than what we had at Hillsdale!

Gordon, I went back and forth on the points issue and here are my thoughts.
lets say for the sake of argument there are 8 428 entrants. here is the point scale for that race:
1 : 90.1
2 : 77.4
3 : 64.7
4 : 52
5 : 39.3
6 : 26.6
7 : 13.9
8 : 1.2
and if we have 16 for 424:
1:98.0
2:91.5
3:85.1
4:78.6
5:72.2
6:65.7
7:59.3
8:52.8
9:46.4
10:39.9
11:33.5
12:27
13:20.6
14: 14.1
15:7.7
16:1.2
you can see the scores are scaled to reflect the number of competitors.
one other thing is we want to encourage participation in 428. I dont want to penalize guys who might only want to fly 1 event. at the same time we would almost reward those guys who want fly both.
i'd like to hear everyone's thoughts on this.
how about a vote via email, when you guys pre-register.

If you want to keep 428 points, they should be separate from the 424 points. You don't want to give the guys that fly both an advantage in the season points, or you might alienate some of the 424 only fliers.
At least that's what I'm thinking..

S10 - good to see you the other night, even if it was just for a few minutes. As Kenny and I were driving back out of there, I got to holler at Vic as we drove by. We were moving slow because of all the traffic, he was on a street corner watching all the cars go by..

Scott Hartman do you have a caller for the race. I'm looking for some help if you do not have anyone to help you. Let me know with a post.

Me, too - depends on what the eye doctor says tomorrow.. cross your fingers!
Hey, I took the easy way out, broke down and ordered a couple of those S9650 servos for the neme-q fuse. Figured that was easier than trying to set it up for different servos, since you left the pushrods in it!
Any chance of getting the settings you used on your radio as a decent starting point? It'll be a while before I get a wing, but I figured what the heck, eh?
Cheers, hope to see y'all Sunday. After all, the flatlanders have to show those "show-me" boys from Missouri the way around the poles...

Jerry Stafford,
I don't have a dedicated caller at this time. I'd be more than happy to help.
I plan on setting up near Gordan McWilliams.

In spite of my lackluster 424 performance, it was a good day of racing! "Impact Eddie" Jump and I had a midair around 2-3 one heat, the planes actually didn't shed any pieces in flight, just sort of stuck together for what seemed a pretty long time. When we separated, he was still flying - Duane Hulen was calling for me, telling me "keep flying, keep flying" - only the plane wasn't! No responses at all.
When I got to the pile of pieces, the RX switch was in the off position. That was pretty tricky of Eddie to turn my airplane off in midair!
Points out another reason why the internal mount with the on/off strings out the sides of the fuse are not such a bad idea. Now THAT would be hard for Ed to turn off in mid air!
All in all, it was a good day of racing. That plane, ugly as it was, has served me well for at least two years of 424 racing. Time for something new..

It was a great day of racing with a lot of carnage. Which was fun to watch only because I wasn't involved in any of it.
Thanks to Paul and Eddie for putting on a great race. And a big thanks to Tallman for letting me borrow his Neme-Q. Which allowed me to take first place for the first time ever. And to top it off it was my first race flying something other than a Thunder Tiger.
Also thanks to Gordon for pushing me to my fastest time ever in a race. There were several times during that race that I thought I was going to join in the carnage.
See you guys in a couple weeks at the KC Race.
