I had an extra Viper fuse that needed repair, so I decided to use it as a test. Pretty simple plug for the rear, epoxied in, the stab still bolts in but I did glue it too. I couldn't figure out how to make it bolt in and be removable except to have some slots in the rudder to screw it in, so it was all permanent. I still need to put controls to it, I will use the stock pushrod location. It will be a while before I finish/test it.

Excellent job, Duane! I'll be looking forward to seeing it next month. But you STILL won't beat me, I'm usin' that 51% nitro fuel (or was that 15%... I'm a little dyslexic ) ;-)

I doubt it will be going by next month, I'll be flying my new white Viper. Still have not flown it! My radio WAS messed up at the last race, the module was damaged causing the problem. Good thing I didn't try to continue racing that day!
I know I can't beat you Gary, unless I cut off your thumbs? I'm actually gunnin' for that Turnnburn guy! (well, I can dream can't I ???)

Finally went ahead and put the gear in this one and flew it today. Only took me about a year to do it! Flew very good (to me anyhow) It would have been nice to get a "real" pilot's opinion though... There was not any wind, so it was great to be able to see if there were any problems without fighting it. Now the real test will be wind, and an actual race. It still carries a small amount of up elevator, I set everything at -0- Real happy so far, but the front wing bolts kept coming loose, never had that happen on this one before, or any of my other Vipers. Ready for the Q25 races Sunday, if I get back from Cub Scout camping soon enough!

Great job on your Viper mod. You flew it well at our last Q-25 Race October 17th and congratulations on your fifth place finish out of 14 pilots. Hope to see you at the November 14th race for our final racing event of the 2010 season.

I'm going to try to be there! Cub Scout camping, I will be cutting it close. I also found more RPM, changed glow plug, and prop, I think the prop had something going on, even though it was balanced, I think it was causing some vibration, losing RPM and shaking bolts loose.
