Default Servos

How do you know what servos to use in your plane? There are so many different types to pick form. I have a Hangar 9 formula 1 Sundownner and a Sig four star 60 and Im confused on the servos to use in them.

Both of those planes will easily use standard servos. No need for anything expensive.

The manual tells what kind of servos (oz/in.) are recommended.

I would recommend ball bearing servos, but nothing beyond the standard torque models. They hold up a little better than the bushed models and will only add about $15 to the cost of your airplane.

I always tell new pilots to buy servos that are a little above the recommended size. Since their second plane will more than likely be a little bigger the servos can be used for the bigger plane as well. A lot of the new younger pilots may not have the funds to buy all new servos for their second plane. Servo City is a good place to buy servos. Free Shipping on all orders over $100.00.
