Glow plug for a 4 cycle engine
#1
I just got my first 4 cycle engine (tt54) and would like to know if I must or should use a 4 cycle glow plug or can I use a normal 2 cycle
one? I did run a half a tank through it this past weekend and used a Fox 2 cycle plug without a idle bar and it did seem to run ok but didn't idle to well. Thanks! Mark

You can use any plug you want, but for best performance, use a 4 stroke type. OS "F" is a good one, Fox also makes a good 4 stroke plug that costs less than the OS.

Yep, OS type "F" is outstanding. Ialso like the YS glow plug. You can get it at www.centralhobbies.com It seems a lot like the type-f to me. Ihave tried the Fox 4-stroke plug as well and had good luck too but it didn't seem to last quite as long as the others in my experience.

Thanks for the info guys! I'm going to try both the Fox and OS. I'm sure the OS will work fine but it the Fox works just as well, that would save me about $4 a plug....but on the other hand, my plugs usually last all season so $4 bucks more really means nothing.....lol
Thanks again! Mark

I use Fox Miracle plugs in both my 4 strokes and two strokes, every bit as good as the OS's and less expensive. They also seem to last longer.

I use OS Fs on most of the time. The price isn't such a big deal to me. I don't think I've changed one in the last three or so years. Then again, I haven't been out to fly much this year.
