Default H-9 Super Sport 60 Wing Bolt???

Got this kit new and don't like the metal wing hold-down bolts and want to put nylon bolts in. Does anybody see any problem with simply drilling out the existing holes and putting a pre-taped block underneath with long wing bolts going through wing and both blocks? Should I try to figure out some way to just tap the existing hole wider and put threads in it for the nylon bolts? You help great, greatly appreciated. Don't want to mess this up and have the wing fall off, you know. I did that once. Fuse came down in 10 seconds, but, man, that flutterin' wing took forever.

No reason why you can't just drill out the existing holes and tap them 1/4-20.

Afterwards, apply thin CA to the threads, let it cure completely, then re-tap the holes.

Mike, that sounds like the better idea and that's what I'm going to do, thanks.

If the holes end up too big from the metal bolts, epoxy in a dowel and make sure it fits the hole well, then re-drill and tap. Works well and you don't have to trash the blocks.
