Default kadet senior

I have a kadet senior that I crashed a few years back and I am looking for the foward dimensions mainly from the front former at the windshield to the engine bulk head. Does anyone have any info for me?

From the firewall to the former under the wing leading edge is very close to 10 inches. That help? Max H.

Yes that does thanks. I think I can recreate the correct thrust angles in my shop and build it forward. This airplane got shot down about six years ago by a smart ass kid playing with a radio arg! well I stuffed it in the attick along with the kindling that was the engine mount and I just decided to repair it I was just going to get a new one but with sig having issues with the chinese supplier I cannot get another unless I buy one from the company that is shagging sig right now(they like to come apart in the air) so I will put this one back together along with a few mods. again thankyou!

Just give it a little down thrust & you will be OK . We have a kit built one & fly it on a OS LA.40 & it is a fun old bird . Have fun ! Max Hansen AMA 14958

I like the airplane myself there are times I just want to go fly something that I can relax with and that is not as complicated as other things I fly. From your ama # it looks like youve been around a while. greg gabelman 762197

I bash my Senior kit. During the process Iput together detailed diagrams of everything. Here is a cropped view of the fuse side.

The distance from the top front of the firewall to the front of the former at the wing's leading edge is 8 5/8".
The distance from the bottom front of the firewall to the front of the former at the wing's leading edge is 8 1/8".

Here's a couple of steering options specific to the Senior. In my build Ichose to use a Hitec HS-81 servo mounted in front of the TW. It was mounted on the fuse bottom behind a hatch just ahead of the TW with only the arm of the servo exposed. Did this to allow the use of the servo to control float rudders.

These are not my pics. Don't recall who the thank for their contribution.

Are you eliminating the rubber band wing mount as well? I stole the basic "bayonet extension added to the root ribs" like the ARF. Required adding plywood formers at the front and rear of the fuse's wing bay. A friend donated a wing half from a crashed ARF. Ihave a root rib with extension if you need the details.

What about ailerons? Strip or barndoor? I used the above mentioned donated wing to clone the ARFaileron with dual aileron servos.

Have fun ...

I am going to use the barn door ailerons and I was going to do somthing like that with the tail wheel this was a kadet arf and it had a catch on the front and wing bolts on the back. The change to the wing I was going to make is to take the diheadrel out. I have a little damage on one tip to repair the wing I need to find a couple missing items this plane has been sitting for a while I just could not thow it away.

For what its worth here is a simple way to avoid adding any weights at all when a lightweight engine is used and it works very well. In this case the airplane is the ARF Senior and the engine is an OS .35AX. The servos are all HS 225 mini's, no 'standards' are used.

Hey John - great tip.

I recognize that battery pack. Had an identical pack lose a cell in my LT-40 recently. [:'(]
