Hi all - While attempting to install a piston in my new retract system, I found the small brass fitting on the end cap interferes with the wing spar. I need to rotate that fitting 90-deg on the piston. I'm considering two options:

1. Removing the end cap and drilling/tapping a new hole for the fitting. I'd fill in the original hole with JB weld. QUESTION: Does the end cap unscrew from the body of the piston cylinder? It's not obvious how the cap is secured to the body. Any suggestions how to remove the end cap?

2. Drilling a new hole a the base of the piston cylinder where the mounting bracket attaches 90-degrees from the original hole. This would essentially rotate the entire cylinder 90-deg. QUESTION: Is there enough "meat" at the base of the cylinder for another hole?

3. Is there an option 3 that I'm not aware of?

I tried calling Robart but couldn't get thru to anyone.

not sure the jb wels could hold up to the 125 psi of pressur without letting go at some point.I think the correct size machine screw would be a better plug.email them they will answer but it takes a few days

Tried calling Robart and get a recorded voice saying their "mailbox is full and cannot accept any more messages".

I e-mailed yesterday - no replies so far as I suspect it'll take a few days.

In the meantime, I realized option 2 won't work as the other fitting will then interfere w/ the mounting bracket.

Agree a small screw would be better than only JB weld to plug the original hole.

Anyone know if the end cap can simply be unscrewed w/ a pair of pliers?
