saito 1.80 overtemp
I have a Saito 180 on a dynaflite Super decathlon. It is two seasons old and has about 12 flights on it. Today I started and adjusted the high speed setting. Soon after take off I noticed it was not making power. There was another flyer in the air so I could not bring it around for a landing right away. On final approach the engine quit and I dead sticked it in. When I approached it I noticed the engine was smoking and I new it had over temped. I got it home and checked it over. The prop still turns. What I would like to know is, Should I disassemble and inspect anything before I try to restart it.

I wouldn't but you need to richen the high end.....a 4 stroker should leave a good smoke trail......hows the air flow through the cowling? you need a nice exit for air...about twice the size of the opening
