Will a Spektrum 6100 or a 6100e work in a glow .40 size plane? I found a guy selling one of each for $25 a pop. Is that a good deal? I want to replace my FM receivers and already have a few other things bound to my DX7. Thanks for answering my question!

Well, I think I just answered my own question...NO!1 I read that these receivers should only be used in small foamies.micro stuff, not glow planes. If I read wrong please advise! Thanks

I have not had a problem of range with the 6100 in a 48"ws electric. I don't fly it to the extremes of my vision. Are these used? If they were purchased within the last year they should be OK. If they are older they may have the long reboot time (4 seconds); the newer ones reboot in 1.5 seconds I'm told. I sent in all my old ones for replacement two years ago. If you can't document when they were purchased, Horizon may not replace them for free.

Another option is the full range orange DSM2 RX from Hobby King. I have several and they are good. You can even use satelite RX's with them. They are $25, the satelite is $12 but is not really needed.
