History of Superstar 40 from Hobbico
Picked up new in the box Superstar 40 for 50 bucks.....ARF....only missing the battery tray, which I made.....Maiden the airplane today...and it flew just like a trainer....
But I need a history lesson...the copy right on the box was from 1992.....the airplane is Blue, Pink, Yellow...with an N number of N787ER......A friend at the field has one that is Red, Blue, Yellow...with an N number of N226LK I think.....I am assuming that one, probably mine is older.....anybody have a time frame when they changed the color scheme and N number?

I have a n787er that is white with red yellow and blue stripes and says "Hobbico" on the Vert Stab.It had a K/B 40 in it but a Super Tigre decal on the side. Age of plane unknown. It required major recovering repairs since it used cheap thin mylar covering, otherwise very tough airplane. Nice size. I would like to modify it into an old timer tribute replica with an overpropped, and oversize 2-stroke that runs all day in a fast 4-stroke mode. ie Enya 60 iron piston or K/B 65 Sportser. The fuselage profile seems to be identical with some models of other names, but I am not sure. Is a good test bed for experimentation.
