Where to buy a ys engine?
I am looking for a sebsite that stocks Ys engines. Particularly, the 91 four stroke. Tower hobbies stopped stocking that engine, and all the other websites i have tried don't carry them. any ideas?

You can buy YS engines from:
www.centralhobbies.com
www.chiefaircraft.com
www.quantummodels.com
If you want a .91FZ then I would look in the glow engines for sale section here on RCU...

Where to buy a ys engine?
Though I've never owned one (and never plan to for that matter). Why spend the extra money, and have the extra complexity of a YS engine? Why not go up in displacement and save of couple of bucks and buy a OS or Saito?
Of the few people I known who owned a YS, they were happy with them but they had to replace the diaphram for the pump within 2-3 years. I know guys with simpler no pumped engines who had them for 10+ years without doing a thing except change glo plugs...
Just my .02 cents, Guys I fly with think I'm nuts for buying Saito's 'cause they all have OS's...

From what I have seen, the guys that are having problems with their ys engines really don't know anything about them.
My personal experience: I let a fellow member (been in hobby for about 25 yrs) adjust my hi speed needle. Accroding to the manual, conditions dictated it was too lean (of course he thought it was just right). I took off anyway, only to throw the spinner about 50 yards on takeoff.
That same fellow has a ys 91 that was acting like a sick puppy last thursday, he could not get the needles tuned in(he always uses 15% castor/syn blend fuel). I gave him some 30% heli fuel (syn) and she woke right up(talk about performance). Of course he went back to using his 15%(says 30% is not necessary). Now I never let him touch any of my engines.
As far as ys's being more troublesome, well, I only had my first for about a year, no problems yet......guess it will take more time for trouble to surface.
Will I buy another ys?? you bet....especially when I want to put the tank on the cg (just bought a ys 110 for a 40 sized Mustang). Will I buy anything else?? you bet.....I always try to match the engine to the plane (going to try a tower 75 on a sig kougar).

I too love my YS 91, and would highly recommend them.
On a side note, I couldn't help but notice something that wildnloose said...
And then he said.
You call that a match??? A YS 110 will blow the wings off of a 40 sized Mustang!

Its my race plane.
Trying to drum up some interest in warbird racing, heard some California guys are racing these 40 sized Mustangs with ys 91's in them.

I heard its the same crankcase, but I have not verified it. As I stated before, not too many ys engines where I fly. There is only 1 ys 91 at my field, I may bribe the owner into taking his cowl off...

You can also buy YS engines from Hobby Barn.
This is where I bought one of my YS 110's from, and they do have them in stock.
The 110 looks almost identical to the 91 except for the "110" stamping on the side of the mounting flange.

RE: Where to buy a ys engine?
from YS site:
....It is the same physical size and weight as the 91 and produces 5 to 8% more power...
I have one, and love it. My first four stroke.

Spaceclam, take a drive out to Upland and visit Pagasus Hobbies. They have a good selection of YS engines at very good prices. That's where I bought my .63. You might call first to see if the 110 is in stock.

martys hobbies is selling them for $329. i think i am going to buy one. that will be the powerplant for my next plane (68 inch yak 54 3D) and in the meantime will be an upgrade in power for my mind boggelingly heavy cap 232.
