Years ago I did the same thing. There were two different whistles -
One that has a metal multi vane spinning vane and
The other with just a plastic reed system.
BOTH were available with candy attached.
Try doing a search on candies of of yesterday year.

Here are the I4C Whistles on my old Magic Extra and a Corsair. They sound for all the world like a turbine and great fun I have changed these two pair around on various airplanes since I bought them about ten years ago.
The airplanes constantly cause speculation as to what that howl is and have never coped to the whistles just agreeing with what ever the current speculation is. On the corsair that cracked piece of plastic is what most swear is the noisemaker. Folks can look right at those half inch chrome domes and no one has ever figured it out![Big Grin](https://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Man I only wish I could buy more especially the siren, it was kinda pricey for the time at 150 bucks.

I actually started looking at whistle design so I could get more noise out of my Shark and pick it up on RC Speedo. Think I ave a design that might work, but just haven't gotten around to building a prototype yet.

Anyone? Surely there are surface mounted air whistles out there that someone knows about. Would be fun to mount one on a couple of planes.
