Default Hobby King

I have a Question about Hobby King...I have been Thinking about buying one of their 160 twin four stroke engines but they are on back order for somthing like 45 days...There is no way I will pre pay or anything like that but what I was wondering was how likley is it that they will be back in stock in 45 days??Will I just go on waiting forever or do they actually get things back in stock when they say they will ??If the price wasen't so good I wouldn't bother with it , but its about 1/3 the price of the OS 160 Twin... I have never delt with Hobby King and I have heard some scary storries so I am trying to be carefull...

People seem to have bad experiences with ordering items that are on back order. If I were you I would wait until it is in stock.

So far the back orders I have done came in about the time they quoted or sooner. They may get in 10 of these items and they fill there back orders first. If you are number 11 then you will be number 1 when the next batch comes in. They do try to get more though so they have them in inventory but sometimes they just can't get enough of some hot items to keep in stock. If you don't put in an order you may never get some items. That's why Pay Pal is a good idea when dealing with HK.

Hobby King is a reputable distributer; but they are huge and supply problems occur.  They are probably the largest in the world.

There's an 'email buddy' button at the bottom of the listing - sign in and hit the email buddy button, and you'll get an email when it's back in stock.

I put in an order with an item on backorder...just something small like screws. It took MANY months, but they did come through in the end with my complete order, and everything I received was fine. They had made estimates of availability, but no promises, so I really can't complain. I wouldn't do it that way again, but my experience wouldn't stop me from ordering things that are in stock. Jim

I got a 160 and a 400 from HK both arrived in their wooden boxes with no damage and a great price.
I dont mind back ordering quick selling items.
I would set up an email alert and wait and see, mind you I had a long wait for a ASP silencer
