RE: Starter Cone Question
Get a new one with a smaller hole like they said. I would put the cone in backwards until you get the new one. It will work better than that one with the big hole. I always make my own acorn nuts for every motor I have because I farting around with spinners. I glued a piece of vacuum line tubing in the centre of mine so it would last longer and there wouldn't be yellow dust inside my motors.

RE: Starter Cone Question
I understand that I haven't been using the right size. I have a pink one. I used to use a pink one, and for some reason I had trouble with it staying in my starter.
How do know what is right size for the different size cones. What do you look for in a good fit?

RE: Starter Cone Question
I drilled and tapped a couple of holes in the housing of mine and put two short screws in and drilled a couple matching holes in the rubber so it wouldn't fall out. I made sure it could be reversed and use the same holes. It doesn't fall out now. The first cone got all gummy(after 30 years) and the next one was always dusting away.

RE: Starter Cone Question
Just flip yours over. When you add speed and pressure it will slip over the nut and grip it. Guess a photo isn't always worth a 1000 words. You can do the same thing and use your starter with the adapter for a Helli too. Other then the giant scale size I can't recall ever finding tem smaller other then the little ones for 1/2A. Maybe John Buckner has some different order numbers for them? I think John uses about 113 different starters. By smaller I mean fitting inside ypour starter.
