power supply output .30v over. how to reduce?? PLEASE HELP.
Hi everyone..
I have a Hyperion 720i charger that requires up to 15v DC input.
New power supply sold as 15v is actually 15.3v
when I hook everything up the charger says input voltage too high.
what can I do to lower the output voltage of the power supply .30v
Thanks in advance!!
HH

RE: power supply output .30v over. how to reduce?? PLEASE HELP.
I just read through the data sheet and user manuals...the only thing I saw for the 720i was to hook up to a car battery 12V.
So there is a couple of things I'd try.
1 hook up to a 12V source and see if the unit operates on 12V
2. Look at your power supply and see if there is an output adjustment.
I can't believe that .3V makes that much of a difference, usually you'll have a 10 percent tolerance. At 15V that would be 16.5V.....
If you're feeling brave you can put resistors in the output circuit...but the by product of resistance is heat.....

There should be a way to adjust the voltage.
If that doesn't work then putting a diode in series will drop the voltage .7 volt.
Make sure it can handle the current being drawn.
Good Luck,

car 12v batterys are close to 15v at full charge. a simple rectifier filter circut should reduce the output voltage.sorry i dont have schematic for you.
