On the subject of Scratch building .......
I have posted this several times over the years, if it doesn't amuse anyone else? I don't know.. but it always makes me chuckle so here it is...

How to know what you are building

1. ASSEMBLY is putting together an arf (note) you can do so much improvement to most arfs I think its more than that.

2. KIT BUILDING starts with a mostly complete kit and plans with instructions

3. PLAN BUILDING you have some one elses plans, limited or no instructions. And half the parts won't work once cut out...(note) includes short kits*

4. SCRATCH BUILDING...... BROTHER you are on your own! no plans ,parts, instructions...

5. and my definiton of KIT BASHING...If you build it and it doesn't look anything like the box..its a success !

now I am not trying to start any conflict, but this shall be forever known as the

A scratch builder starts by scratching his head, sitting at the drafting table,

A kit builder starts by opening the box of sticks.

A ARF builder ( by the way the term "ARF Builder" is an oxymoron) starts by opening his wallet.

I prefer scratch building over anything else and I have used Titebond over the years and it works just fine however I prefer CA these days it allows me to get so much more done per building session.
