Saito 150 and os 160 prop
Hello all I have a saito 150 that is going on a Giles g202 and was wondering what props you all suggest, I was thinking of an 18x6 but I don't know if that will move the plane fast enough. I don't like the planes to absolutely scream but i do like a little bit of speed behind the plane. I also worry a 16x10 will be too small. I was also thinking maybe a 17x8.
Also the next project is a cap 21 with the os 160 2 stroke I had this engine on a funtana and it flew it very well I was using an 18x6 but I think the engine was losing power, either it was too much load or I didn't have the air cooling proper I am not sure but even still it just seemed too slow, so really any suggestions are appreciated!!!

Prop testing is the only way to find your personal magic prop. It's simple, you take a fist full of props within the working range of the engine and start with one prop, fly the plane then try a different prop. When you find the prop that will fly the plane the way you, the pilot likes, you just found the correct prop. With the planes you are flying I'm sure you have done this before. No other pilot can tell you the correct size. I like a lot more thrust in my planes and less speed so the props I use you wouldn't like. I usually spend a complete day just prop testing with a new plane. When I find the prop size and make I like then I buy a couple more. Balance then and label what plane they are for and toss them into my flight box.
