I have a jucker in my shop, tried it for 10 sec. Got pretty hot, but it did soften. When it cooled it was thick again. Thanks for the answer, threw it in garbage

I wouldn't. I have never had any thicken up though so don't know for sure. Once in school one of our bottles of CA started to get thick and two days later it was hard as a rock.

This was mid range ca, when top was removed it was yellow. Went on internet and it states when it starts to turn yellow it has lost it's shelf life

You can store it in the refrigerator which will extend the life of it. Good Luck, Dave

Ditto. I have a small refrigerator in my build room for this purpose. CA is bio-degradable.Also works well for brewski's.

When my med thick CA starts to thicken to the point that it is hard to squeeze out of the nozzle I just add some super thin and mix it up real good. I don't know if I would trust it if it has turned yellow though.

I buy several 4 or 8 ounce bottles at a time and store it in the freezer. I have found bottles in there I forgot about and were more then two years old, it was just fine.

That's good to know. I usualy don't buy the big bottles, even though its cheaper, cause I don't want them to go to waste. If they stay good in the freezer then maybe I give it a shot. Thanks, Steve.

In my old shop I had an open bottle I put in the freezer and it fell over. I discovered it wouldn't set, until I used the paper towels to clean it up!! The big bottles have a good cap so no problems at all, I keep a 2oz bottle on my bench and just keep refilling as needed then put the big bottle back in the freezer tightly sealed. Because I live in a place with about 6% humidity I don't ever have the CA harden in the shop. I'm just guessing that is the reason, no moisture in the air?

This thread has some good info. I get so aggravated after paying the prices for CA and the next thing you know it is no good. I think a yearly restock probably cost me around 50 bucks. If the dadgum stuff would last I could save some of that cost. I do plan the cold storage now as maybe that will help.

Unfortunately, it seems that none of the manufacturers put dates on their bottles. So you don't know if it has been sitting on the shelf at the LHS for 1 month or 2 years. If you have a good relationship with the LHS you might ask them how old their stock is or when they expect to get a new shipment so you can buy then. My LHS owner wasn't helpful and he got defensive.

So lately I've been buying from Tower. Hopefully, they move the stuff fast and I won't get stuck with old stock. But who knows.
