Default Hanger 9 piper cub

I need some help, everything I've tried has failed, I have a probably 3 year old hanger 9 piper cub 40, i love flying this plane, but recently the back half of the wing has separated and does not seat all the way flush and it's effecting the flying of the plane. So If anyone has any ideas to help please let me know!! I don't wanna buy a new plane!

I'd start by verifying that the wing tube, the wing's root rib, and the side of the cabin that the wing mates up with are all still straight. From the picture it almost looks like the side of the fuse is caved in, although that may be an optical illusion. With a wing tube, 2 alignment pins, and a wing bolt, its unlikely that the alignment has shifted unless something is bent or cracked. How far forward on the wing does the mis-alignment start?

About and inch forward, the Wing tube is brand new! Idk maybe it's caved in it makes it harder to take off, once in the air you really can't tell! But it makes it alot harder to take off and get into the air

I see some wrinkles in the covering like maybe a repair was made to the fuse about 6" behind the wing. Seeing this, I would also suspect the cabin has been pulled in away from the wing.

It looks like something is broken in the fuse in that area. I have that plane too, and that area isn't very strong. It's strong enough to fly right, but it is fairly susceptible to getting crushed in the hangar. Put a straightedge on the fuse there and see if you can find the problem.

If the straight edge confirms that the side of the cabin is no longer straight, see if you can find a cracked piece or glue joint that has let go. The cabin top is a fairly high stress area so I would fix it before flying the plane much more. You can probably epoxy a stiff piece of something (hard balsa, 1/8 ply, etc) to the inside of the cabin across the damaged area. I would put something that can't bend on the outside of the cabin (rigid ruler, 1/4 ply or aluminum angle iron, etc), the stiffener w/epoxy on the inside, and clamp it all together until it dries. Should get you close enough.

I thought of putting a dowl rod inside the fues to push it out to where it should be then glue it in place. Think it would work?

That would work if the stresses all work to collapse the cabin in on itself. If there is a stress pulling outward on the cabin side, then that solution might be insufficient. I would still epoxy something across the damaged structure to be safe.

If it's bowed in, something is broken. You'll need to fix that instead of patching the problem. That fuselage design shouldn't need anything to make it stay straight.

I did look into it, it is indeed bowed in!
