Default DLE 30 ignition sensor

I recently picked up a DLE 30 that was missing the ignition sensor. I have one to put on. What's the best way to make sure it's
installed to be timed correctly.

Okay great. One last thing, does the magnetic pick-up need to be centered on the hall sensor at 28BTDC

I'm not sure if the new owner of CH ignitions has it on his site or not but before CH was sold they had the how to time article on there site. They showed how to make a degree wheel, there ignitions came with one, and a clip on pointer. The timing is set with the ignition on and the spark plug out and grounded so you can see exactly where the fire occurs.

Yes, that will get you close enough

I found it very easy to remove the plug, insert a dowel or pencil and rotate the engine until you see/feel the piston is at TDC,, then make marks on the case and drive hub to reference and align during the set up
