Default Engine angle

Building a powered glider, ( butterfly ), I want to know what would be the results in the plane's handling if I don't put the engine on the down angle that is shown on the plans and just mount it at 0 degree angle?
Thanks, Chester

Under power it will want to climb. The down thrust is there so that the elevator trims the same power off and on.

yup.
you'll be 'chasing' the elevator trim. when you've got some power on (say half throttle) it'll want to climb gently but persistently.
with full throttle it'll likely want to climb like a homesick angel. at idle it'll fly straight and level

on the other hand, if you trim it to fly level at full throttle, it'll want to dive with a lower throttle setting.
