I loved mine. Flew it for 5 years before switching to Hitec A9. Run genuine Spektrum receivers with 6.6V LiFe batteries and you should not ever have any issues. I'm sure you will hear from the Spektrum bashers though.................pity really.

Nice radio, it was the defacto standard for a long time. I see them at the field every weekend.

I had a DX7 and sold it when I bought the DX9. After a couple of months the DX9 took a dump and hat to send it in. Scrambling to get another radio, a buddy had a DX7 for sale. I bought it right off and used it till I got the DX9 back, another new one actually. The 7 still sits on my shelf as a backup. Never had a moments trouble with it for the number of yrs when I bought it new.

There are two DX7's. The early version has a 9.6 volt transmitter battery, and the later version has a 4.8 volt transmitter battery. I can't comment on the second generation. My first generation is a JR radio with a Spektrum case. I can't remember for sure, but I think it is a JR 9303 which was an excellent system. The second generation is an all Spektrum. Good luck.
