Fuel for Supre Tiger 3250
I can not locate a supplier of glow fuel of 5% nitro and 10 to 12% oil content for my Supre Tiger 3250. Does anyone know of a supplier or maybe another blend of fuel that will work in the engine?

Does the paper work you got with the engine specify 10 to 12% oil content? The Tower Hobbies site says 16% oil for break in and after that 14% will work. As far as I am concerned, that means that 18% will work fine and that is easy to come up with. As for nitro content, you can find any percentage you like in the fuels using 18% oil content.

I do not have the paper work (used engines). Local Hobby owner (experienced flyer) and the Supre Tiger web site calls for 5% nitro with 10 to 12% oil. Currently using 5 nitro and 18 % oil and after several carb adjustments I struggle to get a smooth transition from idle to full throttle and it runs too rich.(Dead sticks easily when you pull the throttle to idle.

I used 15% powermaster with 18% blended oil. Wildcat had 15% or 16% oil and for the short time Power Master wasn't being made I used that. I refuse to carry more then one type of fuel and I only had the one ST engine and it used what I had. It is a higher compression engine and likes a lower nitro fuel but the oil amount didn't seem to effect it.
It's easy to make your own FAI fuel without nitro, just 80% methanol alcohol and 20% castor oil. I get my oil from SIG, the alcohol from any speed shop. When I was making my own fuel I bought the alcohol in 15 gallon drums and was also able to buy my nitro from the speed shop, The Service Center.

I have already purchased methanol and diluted the fuel to 3%nitro and 12% oil and the motor runs great. Thanks to everyone for the help. Methanol can be found at LP Gas Companies- they use it in the LP Tanks to keep moisture out so the pressure regulators do not freeze.

You can actually run 0% nitro (FAI fuel) in that engine.... and use an "O.S. type F" glow-plug. Essentially the FAI fuel is methanol and oil(usually about 18%)... with no nitro added.
I use the same fuel and glow-plugs in my Moki's... which are in the same class(size and power) as the large SuperTigres.. I used to mix my own fuel buying the methanol from the local go-cart shop, and pre-mixing my oil at 18%... I used "Blendzall".. which is a castor/synthetic blend.. it ran just fine.. After doing the math though, and realizing I didn't save but a buck maybe by the time I bought oil, and took the time to mix it..... I just started using the FAI fuel.. just buy and fly. Still going strong in my Moki's.. even after 15yrs of hard flying they run great.
It sounds like you're running a bit shy on oil, but if thats what the manual calls for then ... I'm sure they know. Good luck with it.

The original instructions stated that the fuel should contain about 15% oil by volume until the engine is well broken in (SuperTigre's statement), and then you could go to 10%-12% oil content. The oil recommendation mentioned that it should be 100% castor oil for lubrication. No more than 5% nitromethane was recommended. If this blend was used, the engine ran superbly. All of the large 'Tigres would run very well on this mix, except the G-2300, which required no less than 18% oil content.

I am not real fond of Castrol due to the "mess". My current mix for this engine is 50% Castrol and 50% synthetic with 3% nitro and 12% oil. I would like to go to 100% synthetic like my other planes. I wonder how important it is that it be 100% Castrol?
