Default Jet hinges

Goodday!

i have a pilot rc predator 1.8m jet. Very nice plane, but have problems with the live hinges. Some are broken especially the flaps has some gaps and i cannot use the full deflection due to the resistance. Can I use hinge tape for the control surfaces? So cutting the flaps, ailerons etc and re-attache with hinge tape? Or are the forces to large for a jet to use hinge tape?

thank you!!

Personally I would not use hinge tape. It might work for a while but it isn't worth the risk. For a permanent solution you are going to have to use conventional hinges. Since they have used live hinging, there isn't likely any hard points for conventional hinges so you will have to figure out how to install the hard points.

No way I would use hinge tape on that.

You're going to have to find a way to install hinges of some sort.

Thank you for the replies! So tape is not an option. How about silicone based hinges like they use it with gliders?

otherwise I really have to create some hard points for conventional hinges.
