Default How do you thin Gorilla Glue ?

I would like to know what can I use to make Gorilla Glue ( or similar polyurethane glues, Elmer, etc ) thinner.

I use acetone for epoxy, works well.

Thanks in advance.

Why do you want to?

Typically you can spread this stuff on so thin that weight is of very little issue. Also, I am not too sure if the glue will work properly if thinned.

My intention is to use it as a filler glue in small openings, -not so tight fittings- . Original thickness sometimes is not enough for this, glue can not penetrate enough, begin to set and baloon.

By the way it is the strongest glue I have ever used, possibly as strong as epoxy, what do you think ?

Thanks for the help.

Elmer's ProBond Polyurethane is thinner than Gorrila Glue, and just as strong. Mist with water to get more expansion.

Heating the bottle will thin it out. Soak in a bucket of hot water, or carefully heat with a heat gun. I always heat the bottle before using to make it less thick.

Down here we use 50% acetone and add a drop or 2 of water. This slows down the expansion rate resulting in a smaller cellular structure. Have had great success with this. Maybe try some samples and experiment with using it like a paint over thin balsa. You will be amazed at the extra strength for virtually no increase in weight.

Just added about 25ml of acetone to 2oz of gorilla glue (amber) worked really well for about 10 minutes and then the whole bottle started spewing foam .
Wasred 1/4 bottle of glue ,but answered a question I had about thinning the stuff
