Default Futaba 8U Synth. Modules

Hi,

I have a Futaba 8U transmitter and am wondering if the synthesized module that Futaba make for the 9C series would work in my 8U. Anyone have any experience? If so, is this a 'legal' use?

Futaba does not currently have a synth module for the 9C. I'm not 100% sure but I think, when they do finally release it, it will be compatible with all Futaba radios that use the current TX module, which the 8AU also uses.

Jim is correct, the synthesized modules are not available. The fixed channel modules for the 9C also work in the 8U etc. One would assume that the impending sythesized module would also be compatible. Then again, that would make sense so they probably won't be

Ask the same question in the Radio Forums. Someone will tell you the Hitec module works with Futaba, although not "type accepted" and, therefore, illegal.

From what has been said by Bax, the new synth module that will be for the 9C will work on the 8U and 8U's

Today I was thumbing through a Futaba print catalog that I picked up at the WRAMS show, and found there were two synth. modules listed, FUTL8900 AND FUTL8910. I believe the second one was for the 9C. I didn't find any info on the one for the 9C on the Futaba www site.
