Big servo problem! Help wanted. Please.
I just finished building my Sportsman Aviation Waco 60. When I turned on
the radio both the aileron servos stared moving up and down by themselves.
All the other servos work just fine and the plane range checks OK with the
exception of the problem with the ailerons. I checked and moved the wiring
around in the fuse but no difference.
Anyone every see this before? Any ideas?
TIA,
Jim

RE: Big servo problem! Help wanted. Please.
We need more info than this...
Do the aileron servos do that with just the receiver on, or with the receiver and xmitter both on?
Is the glow plug wired up when this happens?
Engine running?
Gas engine?
What brand Rx/Tx?
How long are the servo wires?
5 cell or 6 cell battery?

More info needed. Any extensions? if so, what gauge wire? What connectors--gold plated or cheapies? What brand and part number? New batteries: if so were they properly charged?

The servos (2) are JR 537's. The extensions are JR and are 12" long and are hooked up to a JR "Y". The transmitter and receiver both need to be on for the movement to occur. The plane has never been flown but range checks OK except for the aileron servos. The movement is not really a jitter but longer movements up and down (as if I was moving the stick back and forth). The engine has NOT been started. The battery was not fully charged and I am charging it as I type. Hopefully that is the problem but somehow I have my doubts.
Thanks for the responses,
Jim
