i think its at least 2 miles and 5+ prefer. I think AMA has this on their website or here do a search and it should come up

The AMA Safety Code says no closer than three miles unless some type of frequency management agreement is put in place between the two clubs.

And also look at where the club will be situated. Some railway switches and some industrail 'over head gantry cranes' also 'share' our frequencies for their control. And there has been talk of planes crashing because of these 'other' remote control systems, which cause a 'glitch'..
