Default balancing ?

if an aircraft is balanced with an empty fuel tank , landing gear ,
bat and engine installed. ON takeoff it is supposed to be 8 oz nose heavy.

if using an 8 0z tank. correct?



when turning left always look right

Sorry, not true. An 8 ounce tank is referring to the capacity of the tank by volume, not weight. I do not lnow the specific gravity of our fuel, but it will be something more than 8 ounces of weight.

The ideal situation would be having the tank sitting on the CG, but it's impractical for a couple of reasons, so we settle for having the plane nose heavy with a full tank. (It's better than the plane becoming tail heavy as you burn off fuel. )

Yes, always balance with an empty fuel tank unless the tank is behind the CG. If the tank is behind the CG, then you would balance the plane with a full tank. It's better for the plane to be slightly nose heavy (greater stability) than a tail heavy.

By the way, I usually take off with 16 oz of fuel in front of the CG without any ill effect, so 8 oz is nothing.
