In Vancouver, there is Norburn Hobby. www.norburnrc.com
They are a small store, but have been around for a long time. Haven't been there in a long time so you may want to call before you go to see if they have what you want. Even better would be to preorder anything to make sure it is here when you get here.
In Langley, which is about 50 minutes outside of Vancouver, there is RC Pitstop (www.rcpitstop.com) who sell all kinds of RC stuff. Judging from their ceiling, they do a good business in planes. Can't remember if I saw a pattern ship up there though.
There are other stores too. I can look them up too, if you need them.

There's also Jet Hobbies in Richmond, Race Tech(Mostly cars) in Coquitlam and a place out in Abbotsford(?).. name escapes me right now... Also, if you have a mailing address in Canada you can get stuff sent to, check out Great Hobbies (greathobbies.com).
There is a pattern contest in Sechelt on September 11th and 12. It's just a ferry ride from Vancouver. Several of our club members(wcrcaf.com) will probably be there...if you're interested, there are a few other clubs in the area as well... (rcfcbc.com)
