I have just purchased a Great Planes Venus.40 ARF. The first thing I noticed was the engine mounting cross hairs and the tank hole on the firewall are PRETTY FAR OFF CENTER to the LEFT from the PILOTS POINT OF VIEW. If you are standing in front of it and looking at the firewall it is off center to the right.
From the pilots point of view, the cross hairs are 41mm from the left side of the fuse and 52 mm from the right side of the fuse.
Shouldn't the engine be mounted in the center of the fuse, or if it should be off center, shouldn't it be off to the RIGHT from the pilots point of view?
I looked on the Great Planes web site under tech data and there is no mention of it . It does say engine thrust should be 3 right and
-3 down. I guess this means 3 degrees right angle but what does -3 down mean.
All help will be very much appreciated.

This is normal flyerdude. It allows the crankshaft to center in the opening in the cowl. I assume -3 means 3 degrees down thrust. This is probably built into the firewall also. I don't own a Venus, but maybe someone who does will help with some info.

TimC is correct, If you stand the fuse on the firewall you will notice it is offset for the proper right thrust angle to compensate for engine torque.
