Default Removing twist from wing.

I am building a Tower Hobbies Fun-51 for my first kit. I built on a board, of course, and the wing was as straight as it could be. I turned the wing over to sheet the top and after I had finished I noticed the wing now had a twist to it. I had thought of using de-bonder but the ribs are all but impossible to get to. I also thought of cutting away the sheeting and then using de-bonder to finish the job. Is there a better way fix this problem? Suggestions please? Thanks, Gene

I read your post in the kit building forum...

If it was my plane I would remove the botom sheeting and
redo it. It will only hurt for a second, like pulling off a
band-aid, and in the end you will have 2 things... a nice
straight wing, and more important, a great leason in kit
building that will last a lifetime.

Cover the wing. You can use the covering to remove the twist. Once the wing is covered, twist the wing back into shape. You should apply more twist than necessary as you will always get a little bounce back.

As you twist the wing, the covering will wrinkle. Have a helper re-shrink the covering at the wrinkles. Once cmpleted, your wing will be straight.

It depends on the way the wing is built, and how stiff it is: If you can fairly easily twist the wing, then you can correct the warp with the covering as described above.
If your wing is stiff (like the Patriot I am currently building), you can only correct minimal twist (maybe 1 or 2 degrees). If you have more than that, you are out of luck unless you remove the bottom sheeting.
