Micro system question
I built a combat plane that is made out of foam and tape, I have a .15 engine in it and would like to add micro servos, can I use my standard Airtronics receiver with micro servos? How about a battery? Thanks

RE: Micro system question
Yes, you can use any RX you want. Just make sure it's not a "park flyer" RX that has limited range or signal filtering. Though the most common RX's in RC combat are the smaller, less expensive RX's like the Hitec 555. They also make a micro 4 channel that some guys like (NOT the "feather", the other one). The Hitec RX's also have a reputation for durability, which pays off in combat. I've personally also used some FMA RX's, but I've broken a few of those as well. The key thing is saving weight and fitting the RX in to a small space.
Batterys are personal preferance, but small and light is the way to go. I personally have been using 300mah Nimh packs, and I use a field charger, so I charge a plane after every 2 heats, or every heat. Many guys use 700mah Nimh cells, which are pretty light, and fly all day with out needing to recharge. I've also used 270mah Nicads because they were cheap and I had them sitting around, but I'm moving away from them to the lighter Nimh cells.
