are they in metric or standard sizes and what size is it?

It's a standard size. 1/4-32 Dubro sells one and you can get them else where.

They are clasfied as UNSF (unified national supper fine)

You should buy a die and chase the threads on new glow plugs. It will make your heads last longer.
