Sanding sealer and Prestain conditioner

Sanding sealer and Prestain conditioner
I am thinking about glassing a plane using waterbased polyurethane. Many threads and posts suggest to use a sanding sealer before glassing to limit the amount of polyurethane that gets absorbed into the wood.
My question is if a prestain conditioner would do the same thing. I have a few quarts of the prestain conditioner and it says that it evens out the absorption of stain. It seems to make sense that it would do the same for the PU. Has anyone any experience with it?
Thanks to all.

RE: Sanding sealer and Prestain conditioner
Sanding sealer and pre stain conditioner are for two completely diffierent purposes. Sanding sealer helps to seal the wood to prevent a finish from soaking into the pores of the wood to much. Pre stain conditioner is designed to even out the absorbtion rate of a stain on softer woods like pine and prevent blotches. Get some sanding sealer and you won't be sorry.
