Monokote can take any kind of paint you wish to spray, lightly scuff the areas to be painted with steel wool, the finest grade, clean the surface well before painting, try to use paints that are fuelproof or after the final color coats, spray some clear to protect the paint from nitro based fuels, if you are not well versed in the world of painting, and are going to be using spray cans I recommend Rustoleum paints, except for the silver, chrome, metallics and flat black they are quite resistan to glow fuel, I've been using it for many years, I do not recommend Krylon unless you are going to clear coat afterwards and I would stay away from the paint cans sold by hobby shops and mail order houses with the names of brand coverings, they are mostly junk.

I agree with Walter.

I've actually used laytex paint. Though it doesn't stick very well with out a primer.

In your hardware store, look for "plastic primer". Rustolum and Krylon both make it, I've only used the Rustolum brand. It really works wonders.

Laytex paint is pretty good if you let it dry for several days. I usually clear coat it anyway to keep it fuel proof.

thanxs you guys for your information. I sprayed it white with Rustolum it looks good but i didn't get all of the glue from the decals off so it messed it up. no i have to try to sand it. But regarding this it looks good. Thanxs again.

Just be extremely careful when you sand at any place the covering touches wood. It's usually the tightest at those places and it's easy to sand through and ruin your covering. I've used Rustoleum on some things. My only quarrel is with the drying time. It's long.
