Default aileron/servo/receiver question

I'm building a TF Elder 40. It has ailerons, but only 1 servo for both ailerons. The receiver has 2 aileron connections, right & left. I haven't tried yet but I'm thinking I could plug the aileron servo into either the right or left on the receiver, and do not need a "y" connector. Because isn't the "y" connector for 2 servo's going to one connection on the receiver? BTW I have a Hitec Eclipse 7 Tx. So am I on the right track, or how would I set this up if not?
Thanks for your help!

You are correct. plug your aileron servo into the first aileron channel on the receiver. You should not need any "Y" cable.

Thanks for the help! It would make sense to put it in the first aileron channel
