Default servo question

Has anyone used either the hobbico or Tower hobbies servos in an airplane? If so what do you think of them?

Default RE: servo question

I have used tower servos and they work well. I believe they are made by Futaba.

If you pull the stiker off the tower servos you will reveal a futaba part number they are futabas. The reciever is a DF127 the starndar BB servo is a futaba 3004

the hibbbyco servos work well. I use them in my park fliers I don't care about and as unnesasary functions in my big stuff. bomb releases and such.

Hobbico servos work just fine and are a good way to save a buck or two, especially on standard and micro servos.

Default RE: servo question

It's interesting that you guys say the Tower servos are made by futaba. After reading the discription of the two and seeing that everything down to the wording in the tower and hobbico servo discription is the same, I was assuming that they were the same servo with different stickers on them. So can I assume that both the Tower and Hobbico servo's are made by Futaba
The servo's in question are the Hobbico CS-64 and the Tower TS-64. I'm considering using these servo's in a profile fun fly plane. As far as I can see the only difference in the two is one letter in the name and the price, 27.99 for the hobbico and 25.99 for the tower.

Hobbico CS-64 discription and specs:
This is the Hobbico High Torque Standard Servo with the Universal connector.
This general purpose servo may be used in on/off-road vehicles up to
1/8 scale, sport and high performance aircraft up to 1/4 scale,
and up to .60 size helicopters.

FEATURES: New composite gear train provides very high strength plus accurate
neutral precision and minimal backlash
Dual ball bearings
Three-pole ferrite motor
Surface Mount Technology (SMT) design for reliability in high
vibration environments
One year warranty (USA and Canada only)

SPECS: 4.8V 6V
Torque: 69.4 oz-in (5kg/cm) 83 oz-in (6kg/cm)
Speed: 0.18 sec 0.15 sec
Signal Pulse: positive pulse control 1520us neutral
Weight 1.76oz (50g)
Length: 1.6" (40mm)
Width: 0.8" (20mm)
Height: 1.5" (39mm)

Tower Hobbies TS-64 discription and specs:
This is the Tower High Torque Standard Servo with the Universal connector.

Pull the metal sticker off the Hobbico servo and you will see it is a Hitec servo.

So does that mean that the tower TS-64 is made by Hitec as well?

I have several Hobbico servos and I decided to pull the sticker off to see what it actually was and it is a Hitec servo.

Thanks to everyone for all the info.
I think I'll give the tower servo's a try.
