dissolving epoxy
I have a motor mounted in my plane and 5 minute epoxy has been placed over the nuts and threads of the bolts holding the motor.
How can I remove the epoxy?
Space limits any attempt to cut or grind.

Acetone will help if you can keep it on long enough to soften it up.

RE: dissolving epoxy
Yeah, I test tried acetone on a scrap mixing stick with epoxy on it before I posted this thread,it did not work.
I can get at the epoxy with a soldering iron and will try that , thanx.

RE: dissolving epoxy
Five minute epoxy is fairly brittle when it hardened. If you can get at it, you should be able to chip it off with a sharp tool. Otherwise, hold a soldering iron on the bolt for a minute or two and you should be able to unscrew it easily.
