Default uh oh...how do i cover a plane??

Right then guys, been lazy up till now with my planes and only ever built ARTF's. About to buy my first kit, and it's not so much the construction that i'm worried about - its the covering.

Don't think it will be too much of a mission to cover it in solid colours, question is how do i cut the film to create a design? Does anyone know of an informative website that can help me? This is what i'm aiming for...

Wozmondio,

There's a thread on Tips and Techinques titled "How to make a 3D American Flag on Your Planes" this thread provides excellent hints on overlaying different colors of iron on covering.

Regards
Mike

Dont be so scared of covering. Its not that bad. Keep the design simple the first time and try to get a buddy to help. Use lots of sharp razor blades, take your time, and dont be afraid to rip of your mistakes and do it again.

Check out the videos and how to articles here on RCU. Also, do a search on the windex method for doing your design work.

You'll be fine.

And since it's your first time, use Ultracote (aka Oracover) It's very user-friendly, and if you make a mistake, it is easy to remove.
