Default I need help

Hello, I wonder if any of you can help me.

I'm a make up artist currently working on a film in which one of the actors noses has to be turned into a plane nose with moving propellars. So we were thinking about using a battery propellar small enough and light enough to fit into an actors false nose!

Have no idea what to start looking at - haven't the first clue when it comes to propellars or planes! We are looking to carry out a test make up first so nothing too expensive! Have any of you got any recommendations?

Where do I go? (Where are the best aircraft model shops in London?)
Or are there any good websites?
What size/kind or name of propellars should I be looking for? And battery?

ARGHHHHH! As you can see your help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Ella.

I would get a propeller from a toy "hotwheel" airplane, of sorts. There will probably not be any flying model propeller small enough for your needs. You could, however, go to a smaller, static model airplane and possibly find something that would work. You could always rig it up so as to use a smaller rubberband motor--something that you could spin backwards against the rubberband, and then let it go, so spin freely during the scene. Of course, you'd have to cut, and re-energize the motor after a while, but you might get off pretty cheap this way. The only other option would be some small motor like a watch motor or something similar that would run off of very small batteries. How big is the nose? There are a number of very small motors out there, it depends upon how big the false nose is.

Please post a picture of this contraption once it is built, I've very curious about it!

You could use a free-wheeling prop with a small fan blowing on the face of the actor. A slight breezed would spin the prop and there would be no need for a motor or batteries.

My thoughts exactly
