Try Balsa USA or SIG. I have heard both are good.

Default Balsa, etc.

I have had good luck buying from Lonestar over the past 6-7 yrs. Pricing is de3cent and so is the quality.

This opinion and $$2.00 will buy you a cup of coffee.

I've bought balsa from both Lonestar and National balsa. National's quality is somewhat spotty IMHO, one order the wood looks great, the next the wood looks like crap. I've been very happy with Lonestar, Mike was able to fill a rather large order for contest balsa that several other suppliers simply couldn't fill. All the balsa looked great and was very well packed. They will also custom cut wood for you if you need a size that is not listed.

I have never had good luck with Lone Star in about three orders. I have had good results from Superior, Sig, and Balsa USA.

I usually use Balsa USA. Good folks to deal with, good prices and good quality balsa.

...bottom line, it depends on what THEY were given. They're all good when the supply is good. Just ask what type of wood they have at the time you place your order...they'll tell you. Superior, Lone Star and National all have similar prices.

My last large purchase was from National and I was very pleased with the wood and prompt service.

Superior did charge me 8% sales tax even though it was shipped out of state.

No problems in type or appearances of the balsa from Superior or Lone Star, but they are not too accurate on dimensions. The wood tends to be thinner than the fractional amount. Quarter inch stock comes up about 0.235' often. Thus it rattles around in slots. I now drive to Superior, and take the calipers along to check actual size before purchasing.

SIG is always more accurate, but they are a few cents higher too.
