Default 2-vs-4 Stroke Question

Help...I've been flying for several years now and I'm looking to add smoke to some of my planes. I've flown nothing but 2 strokes and I've heard 4 stroke engines burn hotter and therefore produce better smoke. Most of my planes are in the .46-.61 (2 stroke) range. What size four stroke should I get that would be comparable to that? Is there a chart somewhere that breaks it down? Thanks in advance for your assistance!

The 61 planes use one of the bigger medium frame four strokes in the 70 - 100 size. OS/Magnum 70/91, Saito 91/100

The 46 planes use OS/Magnum 52, Saito 56, 72, and 82 engines.

Enjoy,

Jim

Keep in mind that your plane will be carrying the extra weight of a smoker and you'll want to be thinking 70 - 80 for a 46 2-stroke and 90 -110 for a 60 size plane.

also you can preheat the oil by building a coil around the cylinder head of the engine out of copper tubing before feeding the oil into the exhaust. go to http://www.rcdon.com and in the site somewhere is a article or video telling you how to do it. some of the best smoker systems i have seen have been built this way reguardless of the engine.
