I would say the CG is too far forward.
Can you shift some of the weight aft?

I am not familiar with this plane but CG is measured where the wing meets the fuselage not at the wing tip.

Also are you sure the plane should be balanced upside down?

The guys i fly with at the club said all low wings are to be balanced upside down to compensate for the fuselage weight. i'm not sure. i know it is way tail heavy uprught and slightly nose heavy upside down.

This is correct all low wing airplanes are balanced upside down. With the plane inverted the fuse acts like a pendulum and makes it easier to balance on the balance point. It makes no difference whether you balance at the fuse or the wing tip as long as you draw a perpendicular line from the center line of the fuse through the CG point to wing tips.

I hope this helps.

This is not 100% true. On the Sig I don't know if this is true. On the new GP Extra the CG reference is from the wingtips.

If he is measuring the CG from the wingtips on an Extra, he will be more nose heavy if he measures it from the fuselage. I think this will aggravate his problem.

The thing that you have to keep in mind is if measuring from the wing tips the line back to the fuse must be perpendicular to the centerline of the fuse, not parallel to the leading edge of the wings.

If I remember the instructions on the Sig Extra they give you two dimensions to set CG with. One dimension is at the fuse side, the other is at the wingtip, the choice is yours. They also say to balance the aircraft upside down.

I KNOW ALL MY OTHERS LOOP GREAT AND I HAVE BUILT 12 IN ALL.

check the c/g at the fuse with the plane upside down, and the G23 has a tad more power than the OS 120 FS,300 I flew had a 180 up front and would loop till fuel was gone.Might need few more ponies up front.

got a G-38 on my 300xs and it rips!balance the plane upside down, and try to get it level.the plane,or i say my plane flies its best dead level.it is easier to balance the plane next to the fues.loops, roles, spins, and tumbles are all very smooth and pin point.Mine is at the suggested 27% acording to the manual. The manual does give (fuse side)and (wing tip) balance points.
