RE: Painting with automotive spray lacquer (cans) ?
Hi!
You mean paint with? In spraycans?
Of course ...but its not fuel proof!
I use 2-part auto lacquer like SIKKEN:s and Glasurit when I spray paint my models but this stuff is very toxic and you must spray outdoors and use a filer mask and you have to use a hobby type air compressor and spray gun...no spray cans!

If you mean the spray cans, MAYBE. If the can is LABLED as an ACRYLIC lacquer, it is most likely fuel resistant (the only fuel PROOF I know if are the 2 part epoxy paints). I have had excellent results with Dupli-Color Truck and Van paint being fuel proof to 15% nitro. I do suggest trying it on a test panel first. Also be careful of compatibility. You can put enamel over lacquer, but not the other way.
