Default Covering Question

I have a plane covered with oracover that has a hole that needs patching up. I was wondering if I can use monokote for the patch. Will it stick to the oracover?

Thanks

Yes, you can use Monokote. The colors wont match perfectly. Spray a small amount of windex where the MonoKote contacts the Ultracote (Oracover) smooth and let dry. Once dry, go over the seams with an iron. Don't use too much heat at Ultracote and Monokote have different shrink rates.

If the hole is in an open bay, trim solvent and an oval shaped patch work well.

Thanks for your responses.

In regards to the trim solvent and the oval shaped patch (deadeye); what exactly is trim solvent and is the patch still monokote or is that something different entirely?

The idea of the oval patch (which is Monokote) is rounded edges do not tend to lift off the surface as square cut edges.

Thanks, Deadeye. Thanks for the link to Tower also.

How did I get by before these internet forums?
