Any recommendations on a good flight timer? Also, any recommendations on how to mount the timer on the transmitter? I have a Futaba 6EXH radio.

There is a small plastic bracket that's sold at some discount stores like TARGET etc. I have no idea what it's supposed to do, but I saw two in a blister pack. They were in the general "hardware" section. They were white plastic and were basically a flat plate with a two-arm clamp sticking out the back. I think the clamp is to hold some kind of small kitchen utencil by it's handle. The plate has sticky tape on it. The clamp just fits the thickest antenna section.

Timer ?
Any digital cooking timer from a local hardware store will do. They cost about $5.00 and usually come with a clip - if not; glue a clothes peg onto the back and attach it to either your antenna or your collar.
*** Be sure to get one that has a good bell/ringer, that way you never have to look at it - it 'tells you' when the time is up.
If you can; find one that beeps at both the 5 & 10 minute mark, now you know how long until you start lining up for your landing.

I bought a little digital count down timer at Radio Shack about 15 years ago and it still works. I ripped off the cheesey little clip and epoxied a clothes pin on the back. It beeps. So you don't need to look down to see how much time you have. And its small and light weight. They use watch batteries that are readily available and last for several years. I fly until it beeps and then land. So give yourself about 20 or 30 seconds.
