A Lysander I am doing calls for "tightly" wrapping part of the landing gear (fairings ?) with nylon tape and "cementing well" (UK plans ). This is supposed to be done prior to installing the leading edge and adding a 3/16" balsa covering to the fairing framework.

Any ideas on what I can substitute for the nylon tape ? I have fiberglass cloth in .075 oz, 2 oz and 5 oz. Will this work ?
