I have a 45 kyosho spitfire and was wondering how some of you folks cool the engine? On this model you have limited cowl space and my engine is getting... I think, to hot! Hard to start when hot looses power after a few min. No air leaks in the tank or engine. But I know the engine is too hot I have a large cooling hole by the head, but nowhere for the traped air to escape! Pictures would be helpfull Thanks all

The exit hole needs to be 2-3 times larger than the entry to pull air through. Insufficient exit hole and the air doesn't circulate causing the engine to overheat. A proper exit hole is critical for cooling. Sorry I don't have a picture to show.

Actually, you need to have the exit in a negative pressure area if possible. You also need to stop airflow inside the cowling from bypassing the engine. All that requires is that you fill the empty areas beside the engine so there is no space for the air to avoid the engine.
As long as the air must pass close to the engine, then having an exit area that's greater than the intake area will work. You actually don't have to have a massive intake area but a Spitfire wouldn't have that anyway. Just make sure to have at least 1-1/4 exhaust for 1 intake.
