Default GP Corsair problems

Hello All,
I'm in need of some good advise and from what I've seen so far this is the right place to get it.

So here's my dilemma, about a 1 1/2 years ago my family bought me a GP Corsair ARF for my B-Day, I finally got around to building it about 6 month ago (before I found RCU) needless to say they got the hobbieco retracts that GPs suggested :boxing: . At the time I was building it I didn't know that they were not up to snuff and installed them in the plane. Now the plane has never been put to flight THANK GOD.
Now the question that I have is there any way to beef up the retracts or am I just SCROOGED to the point that all I have is just a nice ornament to hang from rafters  .
Thanks In Advance, I know I will get some good assistance

If you fly off a hard surface runway, I would give them a try, unless you want the bird just to look at which isn't all bad.

Default GP Retracts

If you value your aircraft I wouldn't use the mechanical retracts, they just cannot hold up the weight! I'd rework the wing and add pneumatic retracts that CAN hold some weight. Or you could go back to a wire configuration for a cheaper route. Check my picture gallery below for a few GP Corsair pictures for ideas.
